My heart goes out to all those who have given so much for this country. This picture is of my grandfather and some shipmates from the USS Appalachian, which was in the Pacific Theater during World War Two. He’s seated in back row, fifth sailor from left side.
Some of these pictures of morose children posing with toys in the 1860s are LOL funny. This one is my favorite.
Lisa Wade explains that people didn’t really know how to pose for pictures back then. They didn’t have Facebook.
